I’ve just deleted my Facebook page, which showcased my wildlife and landscape photography, owing to the poor quality of interaction. Liking a photo without leaving a meaningful comment is no form of interaction. When my followers did leave comments, they were silly, irrelevant rubbish. My page only attracted people with a passing interest in wildlife, hence the superficial or daft responses. There’s some interaction on Instagram, if you know where to look for it, but the image compression is very heavy, so it’s not the best place to display work. I mourn the loss of Flickr’s community. There was so much good quality interaction. Now, my photos struggle to get much interaction at all. There is currently no platform, which meets my needs as a photographer.
