This was our final day in the Lake District, so we had just a few hours to spend before we had to think about making our way back home. I returned to Aira Force, and we explored further around Ullswater.

Our fourth day in the Lake District saw us trying to climb the Old Man of Coniston, before taking a more relaxing — though unsettling — trip to Keswick.

This was a day of getting lost and unexpected adventures. But it was probably the highlight of our holiday. We took in a waterfall, two high hills, a lake, a beautiful village and a great pub.

Last week I went on a holiday to the Lake District with my girlfriend. This is the first post in a short series about our adventures in the Lake District. In days one and two we explored Ambleside and walked to Windermere.
